injector change tips????

Hello all.....just got the 6 injectors and chip from TT. I have never changed any injectors before so if anyone has any tips or suggestions I will be glad to read and lern before beginning....:bounce:

Piece of cake, relieve fuel pressure ( if it has sat for 12hrs or more it won't be much) remove the rail @ injectors as one, a little vaseoline on the o-rings and install the same way it come off, make sure the wire's go back in the order they come off...
 
Make sure everything is nice and clean so the o-rings seal properly (and use new o-rings everywhere) ... you don't want a fuel leak anywhere; so keep an eye on it for a while after you changed them as well just to make sure.
 
Can't stress enough the importance of lubricated o rings and monitoring for fuel leaks. A fuel leak at the injector can be disastrous if fuel gets onto hot exhaust.

Installing new injectors is pretty easy, like Rob said, be sure to watch the wires.

Good luck, the turbo tweak injector chip combo is awesome.

One thing i ALWAYS do is after everything is done key the car on but don't start it, have a few rags handy and look very close for leaks, been quite a few cars on here that have burnt to the ground over a oil leak, just imagine what gas will do...:explosion:
 
Be patience with the clips. They kinda come out with a bit of a rotation type movement if I recall. Just go slow. After the first and second one you'll breeze through the rest. Nice upgrade.
 
There was a Walkthrough on the Turbo buick site.. I mean detailed with step by step pictures!

Cant find it in my bookmarks though :(
 
I have the step by step downloaded on my computer. Got it from the TurboBuick site. Let me know if you want me to email it to you. I don't have it bookmarked for the download either.

I just noticed you are installing a chip too, make sure you disconnect the bat. and try not to touch the carpet any more than you have to, it will also take 15-20 min to relearn, start it and let it run for a few min. then shut it off, restart and go for a drive.
 
2ltrex that would be sweet. Email [email protected]. That would be nice reading before I start.. After all the responses I feel confident thanks everyone!! Robert I have one question u made about the carpet. What do u mean??? Static elect?
 
Rubbing your hand/body over carpet can generate static electricity. If you touch the car where the chip mounts you'll ground out the electricity and possibly fry the chip. Just touch the metal body before touching where the chip mounts. just good practice. When i work on sensitive electronic parts I have a wrist strap that has a wire and aligator clip so I'm always grounded.
