How does the electrial connector unplug from the injector? Do you have to unplug each one or can you just unplug the harness and remove the harness and fuel rail/injectors in one piece? Thanks
the injectors have metal locking clips that slide around the connector. You can pop them out with a little screw driver. If you lose one they're VERY VERY common and a simple trip to a junkyard and just about any mid 80s to mid 90s car is going to have them (Ford 5.0l, GM 3800, 3400, 3100, etc). I believe you can unhook the harness as well from behind the coilpack. You'll have to remove the coilpack and possibly the bracket to take the injector rail off anyways if I remember right.
I just put my new 42lbs injectors in this past weekend. I took mine completely off (harness with the injectors) & removed the harness on my bench, I put the new injectors in, that way nothing got broken and/or damaged. The coil pack has to be moved out of the way & disconnect the pressure/return lines. Lube all the o-rings (replace any if broken) use clean oil or silicone to lube them. I took my time & start to finish about 1.5 hours.
