interior question

as we all know the seats in these cars are a little uncomfortable and for a big guy like me there very uncomf lollll is there any way to set the seat back a little more and has anyone done anything to there seats to make them a more comfortable ride

If you mean just move the seat further back,
One of the Pontia magazines just did a article on doing that in a first gen Firebird.
Sorry I don't remember which one.
I seemt o remember it was PE magazine.
Maybe you can do a search on their website (if PE still has it up, as they just folded).

My 1982 TA with Recaro seats has plenty of leg room. When I bought the TTA I thought there was something wrong with the seat and it should go back more. Us tall guys could definitely use a few more inches of seat travel.

i need the leg room...wider wld be awesome too haha but im gonna see im thinkin if when i get the seats redone im gonna tell the upholster to set the tracks back a lil

That's one thing I don't miss about my car. I feel your pain guys as I'm 6' 3" with some long legs. When driving for a long period I'd have to stop about every 1.5-2 hrs to stretch my legs. Plus I HAD to have the T-Top shades in to wear a helmet in the car. That and I think my neck would shrink an inch or two. :bash:

I might have the answer for you. My issue is not being tall, but I have leg issues. I have installed seat extenders in my 2 1969 firebirds, and my 1979 Trans Am. The move the seat back a full 2 inches, allowing me to bring my leg in the car, since I cannot bend my knees fully.​

I have ordered a set for my TTA, and my 1999 Trans Am as well. If there is interest and they work as well on this car, I can ask if he is willing to do a group order.​
