I don't know, but it sure is great to see that alot of people are showing up here.
We seem to be beating the record for most people almost every week.
Almost every time I sign up to view/post, there are at least 6-14 people already here.
Granted, most are guests, but still, nice to see this site taking off.
Another great thing to see is that there is no slamming going on.
Not like other websites.
To all you guests, sign up and post!
We would like to hear your comments too.

Amen to the no-bashing! Every post I've seen has been nothing but positive! This is a really good site that I plan on visiting early and often!
 
This is a great site - The new look is awesome too. Let's keep it cool even as new people start finding out about this little corner of the universe!
 
Yup it's nice seeing the community much more active. I remember when this site wouldn't even get 10-20 posts in a week and now we're easily getting that many every day. Plus it's kind of like restaraunts, some of the best ones are just the little hole in the wall places.
 
Since the site has been re-invented it has been much more active before. I am seeing alot of new TTA owners are posting here. I am glad to see the renewed interest.

We just gave the site a little shot in the arm that it needed! I too love to see the new traffic here. It would be awesome to see the activity on tb.com in the TTA area transfer to here. We'll keep workin on that! ;) It's so nice to be able to research things on a car specific site! One of the main reasons I jumped on board with Chris to help him in any way to get this baby jumping! :cool: We have some awesome people in this community that's why you don't see any bashing and stuff like that. No attitude here. That was always something I liked about TTA owners. The only people who really suck is George and Jan! George because he has to much TTA goodies and wont share with me and Jan because he keeps bidding on everything I want on eBay!! :eek: :p :D :p If you guys have any comments or suggestions please feel free to throw them out there. We added some new areas recently just to open things up a little more. Seems like it worked pretty good so far. But it's a join effort to make a site like this work and your all a big part of it! So post away! :cool:

WOW What a great thread going on Here!!! Thanks Guys glad your still here and keep coming back.

I owe a lot of thanks to "Jim" Philly Turbo 6 for really getting the word out!!! Thanks to "TTA89" for the Kick Ass Logo and Icons!!!!!! They really added a nice touch! Thanks to george for always showing support from Day 1 and really sharing his knowledge. And Thanks to Everyone Else for posting, reading, lurking or what ever you do!

What I would really like to do add a lot of content to the site all about the history of the tta, the specs, and what ever else we can come up with. Kinda like 89tta.com had. but now its gone. If anyone can help out with content that would be really helpful.

I've always enjoyed the "NO BS" atmosphere this site has had, and I'm glad to see it's picking up more traffic. I guess that's what makes me keep coming back even after selling my car more than a year ago.

So 89tta.com is dead, that really marks the end of an era. I remember when I first bought my TTA in '95 and first found the site. (In my best "starting to sound like an old guy voice.") It was exciting back then, there wasn't much out there on this thing they call the web. I know Russ has been out of the TTA scene for quite a while so I can't say I blame him.

Let's take a moment of silence in memory of 89tta.com....

OK, all kidding aside I'd like to thank Russ Salerno for all that he put into 89tta.com and also to Chris Kober for this site.

At the risk of creating more work for myself as I did many years ago when I asked Russ , "Wouldn't it be great if someone put together a list of all the articles on the TTA?" That was the start of what later became the literature listing page on 89tta.com. I've updated that list over the years but haven't worked on it in ages. I would be happy to donate it to this site so the list can carry on. Now all I have to do is find it.
 
Ron, it'd be great if you could post the list or email it to me at [email protected] I've already got a good list going, and I nice collection started and I plan on getting a lot more magazines this summer and then scanning them all in for everyone.
 
What is the deal with 89TTA.com If he's just giving it up I'll take it and put it on a server were it can sit forever. I'd like some more info on that. If he can send me the site I'll host it for sure. We have some crazy servers over at turbobuicks.net and I would hate to see that go away forever. We really can't let something like that go away. I'll run and maintain it for sure! Put him in contact with me if you would! I'd like to make it so we can add things to the site as well like the info you guys have. When I had the shoot for Hemmings I got all the info on the car from there! Let me know! Of course we'll link it to here as well! :)
 
I emailed him already and offered him money for all his content. No reply. So i dont know what happened.
He really does not like me much anyway. If i remember right he and john pearcy sent me a letter saying they own the rights to the Turbo Trans Am Registry, and that they were going to sue me if I did not shut it down.

Oh well, no hard feelings here!
 
Damn Chris! I didn't think there would be some harsh feeling like that in the community! I don't understand people when your helping out and making things good for the community and someone steps down on you like that. Oh well. I don't know the guy so hopefully he don't hate me and I can get it back up. It's ashame to let that all go to waste! Let's hope he gives it up so it can live on! :cool:
 
I agree Jim! Im not sure if it was so much Russ Salerno. But pretty damn sure about John Pearcy.

I glad to see the registry taking off!
I remember when I first started posting on TTA sites/maillists, Percy emailed me for my vin and money. Promised to send me information.
I asked for a copy up front, he said no way!
I have not heard from anyone who got anything from him.
He has never shared to my knowledge.
Anyone get anything from him?
Like a few others in the TTA world, just after money and making a name for himself.
I had updated my magazine list a year ago, and now I have about 12-16 more magazines to add to it.
If they don't want to let you host anything, I guess we can all start from scratch, right?
Start slow, like magazine ads, posters, brochures photos.
Then, add tech stuff.

I've been in touch with Russ so this is still in the works. I don't see why this can't happen.

And I'd bet good money the whole registry thing was only John, and not Russ. Like George, many years ago I sent John money with my VIN and never got anything back. This was before PHS started providing info. So the short story is that PHS was providing the info to John and just eliminated the middle man. But it sure would have been nice to either get something for our money or a refund.
