just thinking or over thinking....???

If you run out of alcy at WOT your going to see detonation on your knock gauge (that's if you have one) or your scanmaster, which you should always have an eye on. 2 summers ago my alcy pump failed, didn't know it and on top of that I was adjusting my fuel reg and the line blew off. So I'm racing a Ls1 trans am with not enough fuel pressure and no alcy. Yes, it knocked. I let out, but nothing was destroyed. I think your idea is valid. Get a race chip burned for 108+, get a heated 02 sensor and run 116, turn the boost up to 23 or 24psi.
Open exhaust and run M/T DR. You'll go faster than 12.90's. Also, you don't HAVE to run meth, denatured alcy is relatively cheap and you can get any place. Works like meth:cold: . Wal-mart Supercenter at 3:00 am even

I've been paying around $4.00 to $4.50 a gallon for 104 unleaded at Scotty's Speed and Custom in Bowling Green kentucky. Don't hold me to that price, I think it's correct. I can't believe that it hasn't gone up yet, or maybe it has. Freakin shitty gas is almost that price now!

Or Sunoco 110 leaded. 6 bucks / gallon at the local shop. 110 leaded octane. Since I have no cat, lead will not be a problem. I also just ordered a few Denso O2 sensor (20 bucks free shipping). Denso O2's holds up better than advertised I've heard.

Torco make race fuels but some are not fully refined and have shown wear on pistons and rings. Sunoco is fully refined!!! and avaliable!

I have been thinking alot about my opinions and this seems to be the best for me. So I am leaning toward having Eric burn a race chip for me specifically for this fuel,(or a slight mix w/93 oct) to get it around 107 octane for my new 60 lb. Motron inj. No drilling or worrying about meth , or any any external pump or wiring or hacking. Stock looking!

I only am going to drive around 500 miles this year so this might be my best option for me . Please chime in. Joe

So did you cancel your alcy kit you ordered form Razor? I saw on other post that you had one coming. The whole point is to get rid of knock anyway, so your high octane approach is a good one. If you can get great fuel, then all is good. I ran 21 psi couple of weeks ago on 104 unleaded, no knock, maybe .5 if any... Something else that:cold:things down and I'm considering going next fall::NOS:

I'll bring the broom. :WOOT:

Ha, that's the typical perspective on NOS, but if it's set up correctly it's a great power adder. I'm talking conservative shot here...50 at the most. And if it goes boom, then that's the perfect excuse to go full porting, all new internals, cam, rockers, springs, on and on.... I'm bored dude, have you not been reading my posts?:bounce:

Haha well you are missing 60 HP somewhere. Your combo should be turning mid 11's. I would not add 50 more HP without finding the other first..

I think I found them, And I have to say that I get about 30 minutes every other weekend or so to play and tune. So the last time I was at the track the last run I watched the fuel pressure gauge closer than before and again this past week, it was going to almost 70psi at WOT. I knew then that this could probably be the reason it felt like it was dipping in 3rd. So last Thursday I turned it down, so that at WOT it's showing 62psi. 25psi, acly coming on at 20psi, no knock and pulling very hard. It's hard to tell without getting to a track. About the NOS, my bro has been having great results with his set-up and he's been talking me into it for a few weeks. I've been reading some NOS threads at turbobuick.com and there some positive info...Like I said. bored. No wife, No kids, No dog, No resposibility other than blowing money on stuff I don't need.:drag:
And yes your correct, I need to tune what I have.

Set it up to run E85! 105 octane, run more boost, make more power, and at $2.20/gallon, you can't go wrong!
