Leather seat care?????????

I've been using the Lexol leather conditioner from PeP Boys.. seems to work nice. I keep loading coats on the seats to keep the moist. Shame but the leather they used in 1989 on these cars was pure crap! I talked to a guy who worked a Pontiac dealer when these cars came out and people would come back after a few months bitching about the leather on the seats going to hell!

Both are regular 455/auto cars, both are white, with blue/white custom deluxe interior.
One is a sunroof car, the other was to go to Japan, so it has a half vinyl roof, with portholes! The porthole car has the rare rear center console too.
Funny story about them.
The sunroof car was my first Trans Am (which I bought in 1977, I thought it was so old, as the Trans Ams that year had the retangle headlights.), and where I lived, I always saw another one going the oppisite way, almost every day! Same color and eerything, but with a half vinyl roof and portholes.
Then, in 1989, waiting for my 20th TTA to be delivered, I see an ad in Hemmings, with the same area coded phone number. I call, and go look at it (I brought my '74 Trans Am to show the guy too). He was asking $6,500 for his, and when he saw mine, told me that he had always wanted to own mine too (His wasd the one I had always seen!)! Just like I always wanted to own his at the same time. Now, at this time, I didn't have enough money in my account to buy his, as I only had $4,600 in the bank! He looked over my car real good, turned to me, and said that since we had seen each other for so long (but never met), and wanted each other's cars, that I could have his for $4,500! I laughed, showed him my check book, and wrote him a check for the car! The hundred I had left, paid for the registration! Too funny!
The sad thing is, I had put down $26,000 ( the car was to be around $24,000 new) on my 20th TTA in October of '88, and went nuts buying cars! All Trans Ams! I had gotten my 1970 Trans Am at this time too. The '74 Trans Am I bought cleaned me out! Then, two weeks after buying the '74 Trans Am, the dealership calls me, and tells me to go pick up my new car! Oh ya, and to bring more money! The price was raised to over $30,000! So, I had to finance the difference! I didn't want to get rid of my other Trans Ams. Would you? Ha!
Oh well, fun stories never the less.

another idea for leather care on the seats is check with the local furniture stores and see what they are using on their leather couches and chairs etc. Usually they have some pretty good stuff too. The lexol stuff is usually great though.

When you feel the seats it sure seems to be true. I have used lexol on my car (which I got with 2700 miles on it) and it has not seemed to help. The drivers side still shows wear and cracking with only 27,000 on the odo.
