LOST KEYS

I can't believe it my keys are missing... I do have a 3 and 5 year old and a wife who throws away anything that isn't bolted down. I need advice... Please feel free to call 630-258-9988

I got a extra set of keys made for my TTA when I first got it over 2 yrs. ago. I got them made at a local Buick dealership.

The ignition key cost less than $30 and the door, hatch key was alot less, since the ignition key has that chip in it.

I would try a GM dealer like Buick or Chevy. I am sure others have lost their keys also.

They will need your Vin # and proof of ownership, such as the registration. They should be able to cut you keys based on your Vin #.

I had lost one of the original sets for mine as well. I went to the local dealer to have another set made up from the spare set I had and when they measured the value in the key it did not match up to any of the (15) values. I ended up doing nothing but I have to bypass the VATS if I ever have a problem. Cutting the key for your car should not be a problem with the VIN and proof of ownership but getting the value of the VATS chip might be a problem. Good Luck!
 
I guess I was lucky when I got my keys made, they had the VATS chip for my car in stock. It took them less than 30min. to get both keys made.
 
I have the machine to figure resistance. Im in itasca. You're still going to have to cut a key. The keys are about $15-$20. The door key i could remove cylinder and cut key from door lock....
 
Too late for Miles now, but anytime I get a car, after title, registration, insurance, etc is taken care of, I ALWAYS get spare keys made, if I dont have them. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Good luck Miles, hope you find the keys.

I had the VATS key, but not the door key. I know VATS is a pain, so that is why I had a extra set made, hey it was one of the 15. I wonder if they could have got me a VATS key without the orig. key?:poke:

only if you are a good thief... think about it...:teehee:
 
GM the great car manufacturer doesn't keep the key codes anymore, too old...no one would ever need them. That's why i learned and have equipment and dont have to pay a locksmith $100 to make me vat keys. The door lock is easy. Pull door panel remove lock cylinder and get code on lock and make key.
