Low boost

I normally run about 16 lbs of boost with the mods in my sig on 93 octane. After adding some 110 octane I slowly started to turn up the boost with my ATR manual BC to see how it would respond. After doing a forum search on TB.com, I turned the knob counter clockwise which loosened it. No change. Turned further still no change. Turned the dial clockwise all the way until it was tight and boost came down to about 10-12 lbs.

I then shortened my wastegate rod as far as it would go and kept the boost controller turned all the way down. Now I can't get past 10 lbs even with my HD rod as short as it will go. I turned (loosened) the boost controller until it wouldn't loosen any further and still no increase in boost. Not sure what I did during this process, but now I can't seem to even get it back to 16 lbs. Any help appreciated. Thanks

You don't have a exaust leak do you?
I had one and it caused me from building boost and the boost stayed low.

It doesn't appear so. I removed my up pipe to check for oil after a filter issue. It acted like maybe a hose was loose, but I checked them all and everything is tight. Just seems like coincidence after removing IC hoses.

keep in mine only a exhaust in , and not out will cause a boost drop

Well I thought that too. When I got my car back out of the shop recently it has a exaust leak, so I put it on ramps to find the exaust leak and it was on the driver side where the header manifold connects to the crossover pipe to the pass side.

I continued to loose more and more boost when the leak got worst, it got really bad.

I found one of the bolts to the flange had fell out and the other one was loose. So I put a new bolt in there and tightned both up.

I was surprised that all my boost was restored and it is running with no exaust leak. Running better than ever.

They were up front with me and told me it had a small leak and probably get better when the motor gets hot.

I was going to take it back until I found out it was something simple.

I can't complain with the shop, they were honest and they did alot of work to my car and their price was very reasonable.:burnrubber:
