MAF conversion help needed

I have decided it is time to upgrade my MAF. I just ordered a translator and a 3" MAF along with a 9" K&N cone filter that I have seen on several GN's. I think, the install looks pretty straight forward, except that I do not know what to use to get from the new MAF to the K&N. I assume there is some type of tube I need to purchase.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also assuming I need to move the MAF closer to the engine than the factory unit in order to make room for the air filter.

Dave, got your e-mail. And the best I can help you with here is that you need some straight 3" hose, silicone or other material.

I bought 3" polished aluminum pipe, 45's and straight pieces, and some 3" silicone hose from veracious(?) motorsports. I cut and fabbed the best I could to produce a functional intake. But it looks very Frankenstein and it buggs me to no end.
here it is with a stock MAF, but with some more pieces and parts the LT1 maf goes in the same place.

Here are some shots of #916. The inlet pipe and hose are from Kirban Performance for a GN. They fit with no modification. The K&N filter slips over the new MAF. I'm using an 8 inch air filter; you may have to squeeze the end of the 9 inch one to make it fit.

Thanks SouthBaySurfer, I just ordered the parts from Kirban. Your setup looks great!
