I was wondering if anyone out ther has pictures or some sort of diagram to show the correct way to run a manual boost controller, and get rid of the factory Y. Just a plain style like the RJC unit with a factory internal wastegate
Take the Y out, the side of the Y that runs from to the waste gate solenoid on the pass valvecover can be removed, place the manual boost controler so that the long side connects to the port on the compressor housing of the turbo and the 90 deg part connects to the waste gate. Here's a pic from RJCs site:
You won't need it anymore, and having the hose running to the wastegate solenoid is just going to give the computer some control over your boost setting. What the solenoid does is bleed off air from that side of the Y and since the air will take the path of least resistance it's air not going to the wastegate. With the manual boost control you're controlling the flow by adjusting the restriction through the MBC.
