map pocket emblem

I just bought a map pocket emblem for my car since I was missing it when I bought the car. Can anyone post up a pic of map pocket on your car so I can figure out where it belongs? A measurement would be nice if possible. Thanks.

Have to digg out a picture for you. Mine was missing as well when I got it 10 years ago but if you look carefully you will see (from an angle) where the original emblem were mounted ... at least on mine I could see an indention the shape of the emblem helping me to position mine correctly.

Also remember to clean the area really good so it sticks properly.

I tried to see where it was attached on mine, but I could not find the spot. I am thinking it must have been missing since the car was new because there is no glue mark from the old one or an indentation or anything.

Photos of my spare map pocket ... TTA version and a standard version with the bird emblem printed on the pocket .... both from my collection of spares :dirol:

Hope this helps.

The pictures are a big help. I know I am probably being anal but do you think you could measure how far from the end the emblem is?

Hope this helps .... measered on the front to the edges as in the picture. So 11 milimeter from the bottom up and 40 millimeters from left to left.

Sorry no imperial units being Swedish DontKnow:

Note this is on my map pocket in my TTA where I installed a new NOS emblem when I got the car as it was missing however I could clearly see the indention of the original emblem so it should be very close at least, maybe someone else can measure theirs just to be on the safe side.

Not sure if they (PAS I suspect) used a template for positioning the emblem like they did (very rough template) for the fender TURBO emblems they sent out to people (the dealer) where they were missing (PAS ran out is the romour).

Thanks Jan - metric measurements are fine. Your map pocket emblem looks to be in the same spot as PhillyD's, so I think those measurements are fine.
BTW - Philly - where did you get that CD player, and does it work with the steering wheel controls?

You can get pretty much any aftermarket head unit working with our steerign wheel controls if using the PAC-SWI JACK interface ... I run it with my JVC head unit. Do a search for PAC JACK and you will find a number of posts on the topic.

His head unit looks factory. I would like to keep the car looking original, but if there is a CD head unit that swaps in and looks stock and could use the steering wheel controls, that would be something I am interested in doing.
