My perception is that third gens are a hot commodity right now and everyone is trying to capitalize on it. Just like anything else, trends come and go and this will pass with time.
When I bought my 82 base car in 2009, my circle of friends and family laughed at me and would make fun of the fact that I was stuck in the 80's. The TTA has always held respect with regards to shows, cruise-in, etc, but the other cars were mis understood. I always held my position that "someday" these cars will be sought after. I think that this is now true and reflects with some of the high prices that people seem to think their cars are worth. IMO, the majority of the cars for sale are not "worthy" of the asking prices, but low mileage, unmolested cars are the best prospects.

I'm not aware of what has become of thirdgen.org, but I think in this case the seller may possibly be trying to deceive an unsuspecting buyer with a disingenuous masking of what is a 88 GTA for a TTA Pace car. Hell, maybe the seller is ignorant to what they have up for sell, though obviously if you read the " pace car sticker" it clearly says "89"...
I agree totally, if you want to paint your 69 Ram Air V Hot Pink, then rock on, and if you want to turn your 87 TA into a Knight Rider Clone then have at it...
but when your selling a vehicle on ebay or any other site, you should be cognizant of "markings" that would influence a naive purchaser to what they are getting into. The 89 pace car sticker on a "White GTA" has long been denoted as a LC2 turbocharged drivetrain. Thus far it should be held and understood clearly as such... not a tpi 305/350, but rather a 3.8 Buick turbo. It makes a big difference in performance and price and should be denoted clearly as that... IMO

What get's me is when they claim it's "RARE", REALLY? they only made 5000000k of that model yr., granted it may be the talk of the trailer park but that don't make it rare...:idea5::whistle:
