Need help indentifying this line

I was looking for a line to tap into for the alky kit and noticed this capped off line next to the firewall. Does anyone know if this line is supposed to be capped off? Or what it goes to?

Wish I had that answer as well I have the same line capped and that same red wire, with a yellow connector on it. Lets get an answer on that capped line, lol.

I would have to check but yes supposed to be there and can't remember if it's a test port of some sort or if connected to the vacuum source directly.

Had a look and the capped one is indeed supposed to be there and on some other Firebird's and Camaro's this line is longer and also provides a vacuum source for the heater valves under the dash. The other one in your picture with the 90 degree rubber connector is the vacuum source for the heater valves under the dash on the TTA ... not sure why we can use just the one and other models need two of them connected.

So I would not tap anything into the capped one rather T in on the one going to the MAP sensor?

For the red cable hard to see if this comes out of the same wireharness (so HVAC) or the engine loom ... however looks like it's been cut and crimped together with that yellow thing

the only thing you should need to tap for the alky is the signal from the map sensor, not vac.

Thats right, it is tied into the signal from the map sensor, also if anyone needs a new cap on this vac. a 5/32 short cap works perfect.

The pic show the alky tied into the map sensor wire and a new cap I had put on vac.

The red wire is the blower high speed power. They can get hot and melt the connector that is there. Most people just splice the wires together. As far as the vacuum hose goes, it looks like some of the other engines have a heater shut off valve controlled by vacuum from inside the car.
