New GM Trans Am???

I've had 2 people in the last 2 days tell me about some new Trans Am that GM is building with 800hp??? I can't find anything on it searching the internet and they said they just heard something on some internet news feed. I know SEMA was this week so I'm assuming its a TA Depot body kit like Hurst did a few years back that bolts onto a Camaro?? Anyone know what these folks are talking about? Neither of the 2 folks that told me a car folks, they just know I have had a bunch of TAs.
 
I doubt it too. The folks at Trans Am Depot were supposed to have a concept Trans Am with 1100 hp. I have seen the hurst version at local car shows in the past, the Trans Am Depot is fairly close to me, in Tallahassee, Fl.
Or they could be talking about the Trans Am race circuit, this year the cars have 800hp, that is up 200 hp from last year.

most knowledgeable people on this site know for a fact that no GM production car is suppose to have more hp than chevys flagship corvette!

Hmm, I am betting this is probably it and they just heard part of it :)

I found a similar link like the other Mike posted, same text, but different pics, different site, same TA Depot body panels as previous years, but its talks like Pontiac is still in business and making new cars for 2015…somebody hasn't been watching the news for years or just woke from a 5 year coma.
 
I understand the New Camaro, It's a good car. It's a 1st Gen Camaro. On the other hand I don't understand why people like the idea of a Trans Am built on that car....It's a 1st Gen. So to make it look like a 2nd Gen really puzzles me. It looks stupid. It's like taking a 1st Gen 69 Firebird and putting 2nd gen stuff on it...Wrong years Wrong car. Imagine if they took that new camaro made it look like a 3RD Gen GTA...It kinda reminds me of taking a square block and putting it a cirlcle hole...It doesn't fit.
If they would have just taken the camaro and made it look like a 1st Gen firebird that would have been cool...not the way they did.
I can't stand when I see one of those things at a show. It's almost like the Knight Rider cars...God I can't stand when I tell people I have a TTA and they say like the Knight Rider car?

What would be a neat Idea but GM would never do it, is build a new 3RD Gen for today like they did with new camaro....not a 1st Gen car that looks like a 3rd Gen...But like GM in it's infinite wisdom, they won't....and someone should tell them everything now a days is faster than the corvette
