I'm new to this site and just wanted to say how great it is, i check it everyday for new posts. Ever since 1989 i have wanted a tta but i was just newly married and starting a family so the tta would have to wait as i already had ( and still do ) a 1983 25th anniversary Daytona Hardtop. I'm am in the market for a tta now but will take my time for the right car ( was going to buy hardtop robert lee had for sale but was to late ). I see from other members posts that many of you have multiple cars other than your tta - i'm interested in hearing from any members that also have a '83 Daytona and from any members on leads for any hardtop tta's for sale. Again, just want to say thanks to all for the experience and knowledge this forum offers concerning the awesome '89 TTA.
 
dlee63, will the TTA replace the 25th Anniv. car? I love those 25th Anniv. T/As. It was one of those at auction that really got me looking at buying another third gen. F-body, and lead to the purchase of my T/A. Someday when I have the $$$, I too would like to have a TTA.

I may sell my 25th Daytona if the price is right - from looking at past sales the money is just not there yet for third gen F bodies ( except for tta's ) , the market is on 2nd gens and some of those selling prices seem crazy high. I bought my 25th Daytona in 1985 from original owner, it is a HARD TOP car - 1 of 116 , i have not seen another hard top for sale ever and how many are left after 33 years ? Car is all stock , upper white re-painted 2 years ago, 53K miles.
 
Welcome to the club! I remember going to the Detroit auto Show in 89 and sitting in the TTA. A bunch of my buddies had GN's so we new the TTA was coming. I wanted one, but there was no way I could pull it off. I finally picked one up in 2009 and it's been a blast. I looked at a few cars before deciding on a moderate mileage car. Not too low to drive and enjoy and not worn out. There always seems to be a few available so it shouldn't take too long. I looked at 6 cars in a two month span. Ended up buying mine 4 or 5 miles from my home.

Thanks , my dad bought a '86 GN - picked up in Detroit off assembly line, still has it with under 10K miles so i knew all about the pleasure of the V6 Turbo but i am a TA guy so when '89 came with the TTA i planned on getting one someday. I've waited 27 years so i'll take my time and find right car.
 
Welcome to the group!! I love the early 3rd gens, not many people have an affection for them. You have a DT500 hardtop? That is awesome. Got any pictures? As for the TTA, take your time and get the right car. As others have said, look at as many as you can and try to find one with a little mileage so you can drive it. I looked at 4 or 5 also and ended up getting mine in 2010, a few hours from home.
 
I'll take everyone's advice about finding the right car, as for pictures i will throw one up as soon as i figure out how to ( i'm pretty computer illiterate ).
