Hey guys I am new to the forum and have a few questions. Having owned a 1986 GN (chip, exhaust) I am familar with the TTA but have a few questions. First is how much can I get one in good condtion for, it doesn't have to be mint? Second, I raced a TTA in Minn. this summer in my 2000 Corvette (stock) and the driver said his car was stock except the chip. He held his own til about 80 then it got ugly.(for him). So my question is will the TTA adapt to the mods like my GN because I know they are a little different? Lastly is the owner of that car on this forum? Thanks

Wasn't me you raced, but yes, they can be modded like the GN.
Prices range from around 10 grand to over 27 grand, depending on condition.
How does your GN hold up to your Vette?
Hope to see you as a new TTA owner soon!

I sold the GN about 4 years ago to buy the vette. It was a pretty reliable and fast car. I wanted to make look like the GNX but never got around to it.

welcome!!!

Welcome!

I have 1999 ls1 with 6k miles, no match for my lc2 engine. TTA all the way. Post some pics of your ride 8)

Hi I recently purchased a 89 . My friend at work has a 99 LS1 6 speed Vette. I only mods I have worth mentioning is a chip, MAF pipe, K@N Filter , 10mm wires. Is there a chance I can beat him? His car is very light?

Proud owner!!!

Mr Turbo or Philly ?

if his car is stock it should be really close. You'd probably be better off if you go from a stop and while he spins through 1st and some of 2nd you can just punch it and not stall it up and you shouldn't have too much of a traction problem.

My brother with his 98 Trans Am with drag radials and subframe connectors went 13.2@110 and me in my TTA with drag radials and open exhaust I went 13.1@105. You've got the advantage down low, the LS1 pulls hard up top.

My vette went 13.22 at 107mph bone stock and the F-bodies are very similar. I have seen LS1's dip into the hight 12's with just Drag radials and a good driver. All depends if he knows how to drive. Look at the difference in trap speed with the TTA having open exhaust. That's why I love the Ls1 because most of my driving is highway and few STOCK cars can keep up from a roll. I would not race him from a roll or over 100mph, 72firebird is right. My vette dynoed 298 rwhp stock. Try the hole and practice. Good luck and buckle up!!!!

Owe and another thing, you said he is an stick. If he doesn't know how to drive it he will definatley spin through first and second like 72 firebird said. I have seen bad drivers take ls1 6spd's into the low 14's because they do not know how to control the power out of the hole. ( A big problem for alot off ls1 owners) That's why I bought and auto (3.15 ratio) because it is far more consistant and just rev it up to 2g's and let off the brake.
