NICE TRANS AM, BUTT

My buddy bought a 1989 GTA w/350 w/11,000 original miles on it. The car is red w/t-tops and if I remember correctly he paid $12,000. I think $25,000 is really pushing it. I could see if it was the 89 TTA used as the offical pace car that paced the race. Everyones allowed to dream...

Oh great another " removed from reallity" seller.

It won't sell,they'll relist with a $25K reserve, It'll hit $10K and they'll walk away thinking it's George Bush's fault because of the recession.:drag:

That or they'll think it's e-bay's fault because of thier low-class,cheap-as$,neandrathal customer base.

He just put it on just to see what he could get. I think EBAY had a special of a $1 listing on 2/9 and 2/10/2008, so this guy said what the hell. I would have done the same thing but I didn't find out until later.

Good try though.......he might get that if it had under 5,000 miles........and that's a big "might".
 
There was a really nice red 89 GTA on ebay last night. At the time the car was at $6900 with 37,000 miles. I haven't looked yet today but with no reserve somebody might get a deal on a really nice looking car!
 
There was a 1989 Black GTA here in town that the guy bought new. This was 2 years ago and the car had 450 miles, give or take 50 miles, and it looked awesome. I love clean looking cars.
 
I have an '87 Red Gta with 23k original miles. The car has many motor mods,

-cold air intake, 58mm TB, ported plenum, high flow runners, Edelb intake, aluminum Edelb cylinder heads, Edelb exhaust header, custom 3 inch exhaust from headers to magnaflow muffler, chrome exhaust tips, eibach lowering springs, new rubber BFG comp TA's,

-interior is PERFECT, black cloth, digital dash, everything works.

-appraised at $21,500.00 by independent appraiser

-would sell for less

This guy forgot his wasn't white with a 3.8 Turbo!!!! reality check!!! He must have been fooled by the gold wheels!!
 
I like the 1st one. I've never been a fan of that dark red color though, ever since that prick in the 350 tpi IROC I had to waste. over and over and over and over till he got NOS and I still...ovr & ovr & ovr
 
You just bid on that second one didn't you? Just couldn't pass up the "deal"!LOL

Those first and third cars do look real nice. I wonder what the reserve is on that third one. It is parked on a checkerboard floor for the picture, that adds at least $4000 to its value, right?

I didn't find the list of mods but no matter what that is a REALLY nice car. Are you trying to sell it? If so how much are you asking?

I just don't know what clean GTA's are really worth any more. Unless I was out trying to buy one and actually looking over each car it is hard to acturately judge condition. I have noticed the asking prices for these cars are all over the place now. Ten years ago a really clean GTA was $6000-$7000. Now you see people asking $12,000-$15,000 for them (exept for the guy asking $25000 earlier in this thread) and I'm not sure if they are selling for that or not. I've seen some pretty nice TTA's for $15,000 and they should be bringing quite a bit more than a compairable GTA right?
