NO START

I was on the way to a cruise in tonight but did not make it. Stopped and got gas and got back in car and no start. I turned the switch and no click and no start, the battery was good so what was the problem.

I only drove the car about 3 miles and this happened. Turn the switch and nothing. I knew the car wasn't hot.

I went in the station to get something to eat and came back out 15 minutes later. I tryed to start it and it started up normally. This has never happened before and I wonder if has happened to any of you.

What can I do to prevent this from happening again?

i think i put a remote started selinod on mine i cant remember .... i know i had to do that on my 64
 
yes but the selinoid could be getting hot .... new or not .....i got tired of having to wait on my 64 to cool down to start relocated it an no more problems .... just trying to help this may not be your problem but it was mine on both cars

Thanks, Just can't understand when it was 100 degrees outside it would start fine, and today it was in the 70's and it wouldn't start.

bad ground or starter, it could also be a ignition switch, just means you need to drive it more ! ttarider

I remember the book of receipts you showed me in Ohio. At least who ever had #308 had it done under warranty.

Who knows the early history of #984, it could have had the same problems.:wall:

sad part is taking it to the dealer could have created more problems than it fixed, in all my yrs very few dealers have impressed me with anything but making something worse than it was in the first place :arab:
 
When and if it happens again,pay attention to the security light on the dash. It should stop blinking and if not, you have a VATS issue.

That was the first thing I thought of when it wouldn't start, the VATS.

By the way I was using a new key that I had made at a Buick dealer. I thought there could be a problem with the chip in the new key.

I need to start carrying my old orig. key as well, may be the problem and may not be the problem.
