Numbers Etched In Door Windows

I don't have the theft deterrent stickers due to the tint on door glass. The tint is really dark almost too dark and someone did a good job on it.

There is a 9 digit number etched in the glass with an 800 number below it.
Is this something the dealer did? Do any of you guys have this on your door glass?

It's either dealer or somebody had it done after they bought the car. I remember back in the 90's I think alarm shops did th etching also.

Any after looking it is etched on the rear glass as well as the windshield. I should try the 800 number and see if it is still in service!!

Safe-Guard products Intl. They offer a variety of services from gap insurance to theft idenity. Most likely dealer installed.

I googled the 800 number and I got their website. I wonder if I could use this to find out who bought this car new!

I remember having this done back on my original in 89. Windows etched, car alarm, and hood lock required for a huge discount on my insurance at the time.

I remember back when these were new,
Local dealerships would etch on the car's vin to the glass.

The 1984 Z-28 that we used to own had the VIN etched on all the windows, t-tops, underside of hood and hatch. It was supposed to be a theft deterrent.
