Oil drain plug washer/gasket - advice

Just changed the oil on no 1078 and had used a plastic crush washer for the engine oil drain plug; had a couple so thought I would use them at my last oil change.

Driven the car maybe 500 miles since last oil change and the drain plug were loose and could be removed with no effort what so ever; no real oil leak but seeping out I could tell.

So in short don't use those cheap once you find at the autostore that are all plastic rather get the metal ones with the rubber seal on them this is what GM use and used.

Here's a picture of what you are after (with part number for our TTAs).

Only had two of them, used on this time around then went on-line and ordered another 10 :cake:

I've had that problem with the plastic ones also. I have used some aluminum ones with good results and those that look like really stiff compressed thick poster board, not sure what the material is, but have bought both at the local auto store if you need something in a pinch and do not have the proper one on hand.

I'm going to order some. I don't know if they'll have washer I'll ask. I have to buy a box of 100...
