Oil + Filter Change .. Filter Cutter Recommendation Inside!

Just changed oil and filter (Napa 1086) this morning ... normally cut open the filter with whatever tool I might find (old knife, screwdriver) however picked up the Longacre race filter cutter (see Longacre Racing - Online Catalog: Electronic Wheel Scales, Gauges, Pyrometers, Chassis Setup and More!) and it works a charm.

I used the Pennzoil 19900 Code A (15 Flutes: 93mm) oild filter wrench (cap) tool (see post Oil Filter Wrench Question ! - Turbo Trans Am Forum) to get the filter off (works fine with the shorter Napa 1086 filter) then also use it when cutting the filter open as you get a good grip and can turn / cut it very easy in just a couple of goes.

Very clean cut as you see from the pictures and you can inspect the filter media and I clearly see what my FilterMAG oilfilter magnet trapped as well (so that clearly works) ... also have a drain plug with magnet on it and no debris / bits anywhere so good sign

Anyway just thought I'll share; not the cheapest tool to cut your filters but works perfect and no mess.
