Oil filter comparisons. What filter should I use in my TTA you ask? Step inside...

I guess I need to update that page too! Totally forgot I had that there. That is a old old old comparison chart. AC Delco were decent filters back then! That's when AC Delco filters were still made in the USA. They outsourced them to Mexico several years back and they have been junk ever since.

Funny how the Napa filters are at the bottom of the list and the Wix at the top as Wix is the manufacturer of the Napa filters .

They way I understood it, Napa "Gold" filters are made by Wix. Regular Napa filters are made by else were.

Thats a great oil filter write up Jim.
In your search have you seen anything about the A/C Delco PF-52 (present) and the PF-52 (classic) witch I've seen available, same part number but different specs? Its not the old school TTA Delco filter either.

A while back I came across this, its not TTA specific, but its another good oil filter comparison.

Amsoil EA024 Oil Filter

The Ea024 has less than 60% of the surface area and total volume of the filter media in the M1-302 filter. If you combine this with the claimed high efficiency and tight micron rating, I cannot see how you can expect this filter to be good for 25,000 miles as claimed by Amsoil. It may be that the unique media has a very high capacity for holding contaminants, but I doubt it can hold two or three times the amount that the Mobil 1 M1-302 Filter can.

Amsoil make another filter that fits our cars which one I cross-referenced the AC delco high efficiency part number: PF35L which is Amsoil number Eao27 which I'm guessing is a taller filter to get more filter area. This is only a guess but they do make another one for our car.

Viktor be very careful with taller or longer filters on our cars! The IC bracket there will cut into the filter and cause a leak if not ALL of the oil to leak out on you going down the road! You really have to be careful that there is some room between the filter and that bracket. I know several TTA owners found a huge oil puddle under their car because that bracket cut into it! One owner told me it took a few months before it cut into the filer and started to leak. So always keep that in mind with these filters! Thanks for your post!
