Oil Filter

Well my friend has given in and decided to sell me his 8K mile TTA. It has not been started for 7-8 years. I am going Saturday to start it. I would like to know what oil filter people are using. I have decided to use Mobil 1 oil but what weight should I use.

10w30 mobil 1 non synthetic. oil filter i cant remember off the top of my head. bosch oil filter i think.

and dont forget the STP oil treatment!

Yes!! The STP is important these oils don't have what it takes for that flat tappet cam. The little red bottle of STP will make your cam very happy at every oil change!

You may also have an injector issue. If it's got the stock injectors they gummed up quick. I was talking to a guy who had a TTA with 4K on it and after sitting so much the injectors were all gummed up and they needed to be replaced. All depends on how well someone stored a car as to how well it will come out of storage!

I'm using the NAPA Gold 1086 oil filter & the gold fuel filter too. I would go to Fleet Filter.com if you might go that route & get a few at a time, its cheaper in the long run. I'm also running Mobil-1 synthetic 15w-50, made for performance engines & its great for turbo applications, has plenty of zddp for older applications also. I know its not for everybody, but its what I'm using. Out here in Phoenix its 110+ deg & I like the added protection. Check out the link:

Turbo one, like the sig power in the hands of a few. Did you ask Steve if you could use that? LOL! It is fitting for the TTA. Thanks for all the info.
