Here is the first shot at coming up with some production figures on the GTA/TTA cars. Since the years 1987-1990 are basically the same, the GTA cars may not have an actual year listed, rather 1987-1990 GTA; 3rd Generation TransAm.
Car Model Color/Interior Production #
1987 GTA Bright Red/ Grey 2508
1989 TTA White/Saddle Lthr Hdtp 1560
1988 GTA Flame Red/ Saddle 2508
1989 TTA White/Saddle Clth Hdtp 1560
1990 GTA Black/ Saddle Lthr 1560
1989 TTA White/Saddle Lthr T-Top 2508
1990 GTA Gunmetal Met/ Grey ?? 1560
1989 TTA White/Saddle Clth T-Top 1560
1989 GTA Bright Red/Saddle Lthr T/T 1560
On the GTA, we can change the exterior and interior colors around depending on the information we can get from the GTA source information and replies from the forums set up to gather information. As talked about previously, it is easier to do the hardtop first, then change the mold and do the T-Top body. After the second TTA car is done, then all the next cars could be either hardtop or T-Top. More than likely the hardtop bodies would be run for all the cars, then the mold changed for the T-Top bodies. So the last cars might all be T-Top cars.
On the T-Top cars, they would have a lift-off
T-Top so you could either put the top on or leave it off.
Still trying to work out the serial numbers issues. Might have to have a insert in the box so you can send for your certificate. To receive your certificate with your car number, you would have to go to the TTA web site and/or get a Pontiac verification that you have a specific car number. Then the certificate would be mailed to the person who has the actual car. If it is possible, might need all the car numbers for all the hardtops and the T-Top cloth cars. Then we could pull those numbers and put the rest of the certificates in the cars. For now, still trying to come up with the best way to do it!!!
More later. Please put the about information on the forums and try to get as much response as possible.
OK Come On Guys DID YOU READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH?? THEY ARE SERIOUS HERE!!!! LETS SEE SOME REPLYS. They are obviously reading posts here. So start showing some intrest!
