Anyone keeping a record of what VIN's came from what dealers? I was going to have PHS send me a window sticker for my car but they say they need to know the originating dealer's name. Jim Mattison says if I can find that he'll send me the window sticker but otrherwise I'd have to go through a service GM farms that kind of info out to and they'll charge me $50 just for that info. I'm fairly sure my car was first purchased by a guy in Oregon but other than that I got nothin'. Anyone have any resources for this stuff?
 
Try GM in Canada. Google it and they have a 800 number. For some reason GM in Canada keeps better records then here and they also seem to have all the info on the cars here. I got a ton of information from them on my GN when no one in the US could help me. They even had my dealer. Worth a shot I guess. Make sure you let us know how you make out!
 
He dropped the price to $300 which is certainly more attractive then $500. Has anyone asked if he'd do a better price for a group type purchase? Say if 3 or 4 of us were to buy info for our cars all at once? I don't know if that makes his documentation work more or less time consuming though.

Jim I spoke with GM Canada today. They said since it's so old they'd have to do it manually and the charge was around $50 US to basically decode the Spid sticker for me and send me a bunch of tech documentation. I told him I was really after delivery documentation in particular and he said that's a different packet of info. That bundle is about $80 US and will give me the selling dealer info but he didn't say what else I get for $80 bucks. So right now GM USA's deal for $50 to tell me where it was delivered originally is winning. Everyday I think more and more about spending the money for BigDog's info though it is a fair chunk of change.

It is no less time consumming to do several vehicles at one time. However, I am always open to a group purchase to help everyone in their efforts to accurately document their vehicle. The TTA information received from PHS is next to nothing (a build sequence #) and not accurate in many cases. TTA owners are living well this year, twentieth anniversary of the 20th Anniversary Trans Am. Value of a TTA should rise from this time forward. To support your requests for proper vehicle documentation, I will offer a group purchase price of $200 for the complete information package. That price will be delivered to your door. I would hope to have 50 owners or better sign up.
