hey all, anyone have any good suggestions on what to do with my tta that has been in non-climate controlled environment for the last 2 years!! it hasnt even been started. should i change oil and tranny fluid before i drive it, anything? i need a new exhaust as well, does anyone know where to get one? i'm new to the chicagoland area, any other tta freaks around here anywhere? any good speed-shops that know how to work on these cars and engines in the area also..........thanx!!!

Hi there!

Yes, please... do change the oil in the engine, tranny and rear end!!!!!
Check all the hoses after cracks before you start it up.

Well you know the problems I've had and mine wasn't sitting that long. I would sugest taking it to a shop (if you can't do this yourself). The entire fuel system should be checked (fule tank filters and so on for rust). Most of the sensors are most likely shot. And of coarse new plugs, wires, cap, rotor (the full tune up). And as your looking the exaust is in bad shape. Hopefully you can do most of this yourself because mine just cost me 2200.00 and I still have to shell out over 1000.00 to change the cam. So may your fortune be better than mine. Good luck!!!!!!

Chris..... i hope you haven?t payed the shop for cap and rotor since our engines doesn?t have a distributor.

And yes, a good tip is to drain all the old fuel from the tank and change the fuel filter as well.

I bought a corvette from a neighbor that was sitting for two years....The brake fluid was on the floor, the radiator was showing the core, the oil was 1.5 quarts low, Ps fluid low....Prefilght it like a pilot would before a flight in a strange airplane. Check and replace everything! Belts and hoses are a special point to check and replace as needed. pump the oil pressure up before you give it spark and get oil everywhere you can for that first startup if possible.

thanks for all the info sOnOmas, i just might end up taking it to the shop. the thing these days is $$$ everyone want's some.......know what i mean!!!! i'll do what i can......dave
thanx everyone!!!!!
