Paging Jarred

Here it is. This is an RJC 4" maf pipe fitted to my turbo. It runs under my tony dequick front mount intercooler piping. This pipe also fits under an RJC 3" up pipe for the stock location intercooler. That is the other pic. The maf pipe fits under the 3 inch up pipe with an air temp sensor welded under the up pipe.

NOTE: I have an angled boss for my iac valve.

These pipes are as they come from RJC, no fabbing or welding was done.

Thanks jarred, looks like it is long enough to cut for a maf install, will it fit with a up pipe not from RJC ? thanks again pal...

I could be wrong but I do not think it will fit under your up pipe if it's larger than stock.

With that being said, Bo (TTASAP) could make you a 3.5" maf pipe. That will clear. Just need a reducer from 4"/3.5"

I contacted Pete Tomka via cell number about 2 months back and he had (2) 4" hose left. Now 1.....

In the pics you see I have a 3" rjc up pipe (larger than stock) and the 4" maf pipe. They fit very well together, enough clearance that I have my air temp sensor between the two.

Any tta can fit a 3" up pipe and 4" maf pipe so long as you have an angled iac
 
I have a angled iac, the problem may be the stock up pipe, i will mock it up later today and see if the 3" maf pipe will reach the top of the turbo without hitting the up pipe..

Joe, how much is the Tomka hose ? thanks guys
 
Hello guys...working ..

I was unsure if the 4" maf pipe would clear the 3" up pipe.

I like the Tomka hose because it gives you a room in the already squished engine compartment because its flexibility. My 3" up pipe touches Tomka hose...

Just have Bo fab you up a 3.5" or buy some 4" Aeroduct.

The 4" Tomka hose is flexible and will work but the up pipe will rest on maf about 1/8"

Yeah i'm seein' the little problems but i don't think reducer's are the answer, kinda defeating the purpose of using a 4" inlet reduced to a 3 or 3.5, guess i need to pray on it for a minute...
 
I still need to clock the turbo just a little bit as it was hung up on the oil cooler hose but i moved it and the turbo dropped a 1/4" but still not enough.
 
I wouldn't go 3" but 3.5" with LS maf would work. You wouldnt notice a different. That's gonna be your only option unless you use a 4" hose till it across the up pipe
then custom nig a pipe to the maf...

You had 3" maf setup before...if you go 3.5" maf pipe and the better 3.5" LS Maf sensor it will be very noticeable in throttle response. Better spool up for sure too.

I got a idea!:idea5: Though i have to buy a ft. of it and then cut, just get a straight 4" hose and cut where it clear's the up-pipe which i connect last, then maybe it will squeeze just enough on top to clear.. sorta like a 4" to 3 3/4 and back to 4".

I forgot to add i'm talking about silicone hose, not duct hose.

I think the best and easiest thing to do Robert is get a 3.5" metal pipe from Bo.
Use a LS 3.5" MAF Sensor and get a 3.5" air filter.
This way everything matches after the inlet of the turbo and it doesn't look nagger rigged.

You could sell your 3" maf pipe, stock maf and air filter you have now toward a new intake.

Okay, here is a few pics of the 4" maf hose i bought, note that the hose is slightly compressed with the up pipe on, now the real question is will a new up pipe from RJC clear the 4" maf pipe with just a RJC Power plate on the TB... last pic is my left fist in the 4" hose...:eeks:

Kudos to Jarred... I can't figure out how Jarred's intake setup fits that well. I tried and it wouldn't fit...it was off by atleast a 1/4" (maf to up pipe). Didn't want to put a dipple on the pipe.... Sold the pipe and lost money.

Weird...I see Roberts is the same height issue I did.

I thought piecing it together with a 45* coupler leaving the turbo then a pipe...then another coupler and pipe. Too many pieces, angles and couples are needed if you want to put the air filter in the opening in the inner fender.
Nagger rigged...

Tomka hose is great because it bends and is a very well made hose that lasts forever. You do not have to relocate the IAC either :)
