Painted hood bumpers?

Do the rubber, adjustable hood bumpers typically have white paint on them? The car I'm looking at has paint on all 4 of them but it shows no signs of having any paint work done in it's lifetime. They're all uniformly painted too with just the top being rubbed down to the black rubber and some ragged edges at the side edges.

Yes they came painted from the factory. They sprayed bombed the engine bay and slammed the hood while the paint was wet. This was common back in the late 80's from GM. I've had people argue with me the car was repainted because they saw paint on the rubber hood bumpers. Then I tell them why would'nt I just wipe it off with some thinner if I thought it was'nt original!

yup as Jim said it's original. I believe all 3rd gens have this one them.

+3 I've seen tons of TTA's (and 3rd Gen's in general) and that's the way they painted them!

If you look on the hood you'll see where the wet bumper touched the hood. Another good way to tell if the hood is original on the car.
