plastic teeth on the timing gears

i recently heard about the plastic timing gear teeth im picking up a low mileage tta in a couple of weeks and was told its a good idea to change them? any help would be greatly appreciated thanks, BOB:crazy:

You can do it with the motor in the car, I did it outside on my driveway.... Start by removing the intercooler.
Pull out the cam sensor, unbolt the front cover, three front oil pan bolts, then put in your new timing chain and gears. Replace gaskets and bolt everything back up. I didn't replace the tensioner I've heard it can come loose and cause problems. You'll need a cam sensor tool from caspers to easily set the cam sensor. Don't forget to put the oil slinger back in too, cause that would really suck.

Not too bad of a job if you like wrenching.
