Keep this Forum or Go back to the original but on the new server???

I liked the fact that the old board had a feature to let you see the latest posts since you last logged on. It also had a familiar look to it. Not sure if this board could be enhanced to have the look of the old board.
 
We need to look beyond the "look and feel" and focus on the experiance using the new forum (functions and features) ... for instance compare the way you attach and upload images between the two and similar activites you are doing as a user of the forum.

The look and feel as Chris pointed out is the basic default setting ... so personally I would recommend to bring up (with examples) things you like to see from a UI (so look and feel) point of view, things that are missing (functionality that is) etc.
 
Jan - I don't think the functionality is as good as the other board. Just s an example - I get an email that a new post has been made to a thread I am following. But when I use the link in the email, I go to a page that says the thread no longer exists. I know it is an error, because I got the email for your post, and the thread is still here.

With the old Forum even if had the email notification turned on for threads I was active in / watching I never did get any notifications, now I do (but link not working).
 
Just curious, why get rid of vbulletin? Its familiar, since its used by many online forums, and seemed user friendly. This format seems just like the one used over at turbobuick.com, which I never liked or found easy to use. Just my opinion
 
There were issues with the database in the background and it was time to move to a different host.
So with the move it was time to update the board. The forum was old and almost no support for it.

The newer Vbulletin is almost like this forum but not as user friendly.
 
It is still not fixed. I am trying to go to the TTA Registry that had a list of all members with links embedded to the info/pictures that had been uploaded by the owner. The registry information included car #, owner's name, location, email address, and space for more information. I have it downloaded in excel from last year but can not find the link here to see the latest, most up to date registry. Can you tell me where that link is or if it has been removed from the new format? Thanks again!
 
My reply was to a comment of the email link not working and it does, I just used it to bring me to this post.

I have not setup the registry yet.
Once I'm satisfied with the theme I will then add links.

Well, I'm just happy the forum is back in any form...I just now found it again, as the old old bookmark does not work...has /forums/ instead of /forum/. I was afraid it was just gone.

No plans to shut down....ever. At least not without notice. Even then I would make the site available just for the information it has.
 
Ok...so its been 12 days. 17 people want the old back, 8 people want somthing different. Let's quit hem haw'in around and go back to the old format. What are we waiting for....an upset??? Just say'n. Move along, nothing to see here.
