Powdercoating engine block and heads

Hey guys, I have my engine apart and was thinking of having the block and heads powdercoated. My engine guy told me he wouldn't recommend it for a street car due to cooling issues. Anyone out there have their engines done and if so any cooling issues. Thanks in advance for your input.

I would pass on that for sure. Powder holds in heat big time. I had a few guys cry because I powder coated the intake on my 86 and 87. Just spray bomb it glossy black and it will look fine! :)

I used POR 15's black engine enamel on both the block and heads and looks good so far. Make sure you get all the parts cleaned properly and you should have no problem. And yes powdercoating block/heads is not a good idea. I powder coated all accessory brackets and other bits but painted the intake and plenum with silver paint and looks good, same with the front cover and water pump housing.
