Power antenna

do you know if the motor is bad for sure? somtimes people unpulg it from behind the dash on the passenger side so it doesnt just keep running... check that first.

Good! That means it is only the cable needs a fixing. I installed a replacement assembly, while it looks stock from the top, it doesn't bolt in the Same way. So mine goes up on an angle haha. I will get around to doing the $2 fix one day

Keep in mind that there's many 80-90 GM cars that have the same basic antenna if you just need certain parts like motor/housing is the same and you can re-use everything besides the antenna mast/tube components if you need some of the other bits that will be cheaper compared to finding a used (and most likely dead) F-body antenna.

I'm reviving a really old thread. Recently purchased TTA #1166. Previous owner has the entire antenna assembly replaced under warranty in 1991. I am looking to replace it with the correct "assembly line" unit. Note, I'm talking about the exterior trim pieces (grommets), nut/screw??, mast, etc. what's in the car now is ALL black in color including tip of antenna and what looks to be a single piece grommet...assuming the original was a two-piece?? ANY IDEAS what the correct replacement part numbers are? What other other GM cars had the same setup? I could really use some help here.
Thanks.
