Question for K&N ?

Hello guys,


I am looking to purchase a new K&N air filter for the Pontiac. I have a 3 inch ATR chromes Maf. What model number filter do I want? Thanks, Joe

I'm in the same boat,the old K&N was the 9" long cone and whether by poor installation or size it was beating the hell out of the inside fender. Because my set up was a hodge-podge of OEM parts and aftermarket I pulled it all out. I bought some DIY polished 3" bends and straight pipe,some couplers from full throttle and I bought a cone filter of no name brand at autozone that is under 8" in length and 3/4" smaller diameter. I haven't gotten around to fabbing it all in but it'll be a better fit than what was on there.

I'm using an aluminum MAF pipe from John Pearcy, a GN flex hose from Dennis Kirban, and an 8" K & N cone filter. No bending, no cutting; near perfect fit. Squeeze the filter slightly to wedge it in the opening on the inner fender. That pretty much keeps it in place. I have the same set-up on both cars; works well and looks good.
