Quick Tranny question

When I first bought the TTA in Oct 06, the tranny shifted very firm and tight (kinda neck snapping). Especially for 1-2 gear. Lately the tranny has shifted a little slower but still firm. I use to be able to chirp the tires into 2nd with that crazy pitbull chip. Now it seems like it takes longer to shift to 1 to 2 and into 3rd at WOT. Also, takes a little longer it reverse from park than it use too. Should I worried? Shoud I flush it? Guy I bought it from told me he flushed it 4-5 years ago and it basically sat after that.
I checked the fluid and it looked very clean and smelled normal. I heard of people filling it pint or so over for better shifts? My tech told me his GN did the same thing when he started added HP to the older tranny. I have been reading about the TV cable and a few extra things but I will not mess with a thing.
What do you all think I should do? Shifts firmly when applying 1/2 to 3/4 throttle in every gear. Just breakin in maybe???
 
The transmission was the weak point of the GN and the weak point of the TTA. The more you mod it and woop on it the faster it goes! You could try to adjust the TV cable. Sometimes from going wot it will reset the cable and cause it to skip a click from time to time and get out of adjustment. I know my TTA needed a click when I got the car so you might get lucky! :cheers:
 
Yep, Philly is right. That's the weakest point on these rides. The stock oil pickup inside the tranny is toward the front, when you excellerate the oil sloshes to the rear away from the filter pickup. Filling it fuller may help this. My trans bit it at about 33,000 about 3 years ago. sadly, but a rebuild is in your future, don't be blue though my friend as this is a great opportunity to make it stronger and get that 3500 stall convertor that you know your gonna need when you undoubtably get a oversized turbo. Haha, J/K, but hey you may as well get it beefed up. Try John's Performance, or call him and see what he may know.
