Yep correct and you also find that same number on the passanger door barcode label.
This is how they kept track of the body during the built process as there were no VIN on the cars until very late on the line.
So you find all documents (manifest, buildsheet, assembly line work sheets etc) had this number on them along with the assigned VIN.
And that sequence number is for all 3rd Gen's built that year so all Camaro's and all Firebird's
So assigned when they got the orders in from the dealers and prepared everything to get the car built.
