Radio unlock procedure

My factory Delcoloc radio is in loc mode. I have tried the mute button technique from previous threads but no luck. Are there codes or other procedures to try? Who would want to steal a tape player radio?

How long did you hold the mute button on the steering controls down? You may also have an issue with the steering wheel controls. Take a look around on ebay you can buy them fairly cheap. Might be a way to test it at least.

I would try tapping the mute button hard a few times. That helps when mine is not working.

Who would want to steal a tape player radio?

Now? nobody would.

But back in the mid to late 80's the UX-1 was considered to be quite the deck!

Thanks for the replies. It appears I may have some problem with steering wheel controls. I did get the unit unlocked, but found the tuner side is not working. Good news the tape works but will not give back that old Warrant tape when instructed to eject. :headbang:I am sending to MI for a repair.
