rear hatch will not electronically lock when closed

Rear hatch has been working properly, until today, I closed it this morning and it would not electronically close or lock, has anyone had this problem, and how can I fix it.

There's a micro switch at the top so if you try to flick that one with your finger to activate the motor and see if it goes up and down.

Above the HVAC controls, far right button. Looks like a little car with hatch open.

I just repaired mine about a month ago. Got the kit from Top-Down solutions. Great kit. Includes everything. Very easy to do.

For some strange reason the rear hatch is closing and locking now. I did not do anything to it. It is working now.

your emergency brake must be up to let the rear hatch open, if it's down i don't think it'll let you open the hatch

If the car is running the ebrake has to be pulled up, but with the car off the button will work with it up or down.

That is some very useful information. I always turned the car off to open the hatch. Learn something new everyday.
