OK, so one day I noticed my wheels had been stolen off my car as it sat in the driveway one night!!! People are really creepy. So I turned in a claim to my insurance company and they sent me a check less the deductible so I am ready to buy some wheels and tires. Should I go with the originals if I can find some, or should I go with brand new replacement wheels made to be as good or better than the originals? Also, to add to the trouble of replacing the wheels and tires, the original tire size is not a plentiful size anymore. I looked for Michelin Pilot tires in 245/50-15 but they are not available in that size. I know there are other brands available, but I would prefer Michelins or maybe Pirellis. So please, anyone have any suggestions, especially if non oem wheels will affect the value of my car? I see there is an oem looking wheel that is 17" x 8" that Hawk offers and the tire size is probably more easily available. I appreciate any and all feedback and if I need to start this as a new thread, please let me know. I have not been on here much since my car has been kind of "resting". The thieves must have taken pavers from around the neighborhood, or came equipped so they could put my car on them after they took the wheels off. The left my car sitting on the brake rotors on top of the pavers. I had wanted to have my wheels refinished eventually, but this is not at all the reason why or the way I intended to accomplish that goal.

I scored a nice set of original/refinished wheels from 3rd Gen Ranch. and put on a the Firestone wide-oval indy 500 tires... seemed like the tires were highly rated.
The 17s look great. etc, but non-stock.

I like stock, but I'd likely upgrade to 17's in your situation. If you decide to go stock, I found B.F.Goodrich G Force to be fantastic. Not too pricey and easy to find in the 245/50/16. IIRC the factory size?

Dont know if that is a typo or not but the tire size is 245/50/16. I have the Firestone Wide Ovals also. I have heard the 17's from Hawks are nice, but no offset like the originals and I think they come with spacers for the fronts. So more options for the 17's with tire size but non original looking, so its a trade off-your car, your decision.
 
Thanks guys, lots of good food for thought. I don't like the idea of using spacers so I'll go with used or "OER" wheels. It's $844 for a used set of wheels, new center caps, new lug nuts, and new lug nut caps. The "OER" wheels are $978.00 center caps, lugs and lug caps. Wheel locks are $40 - will definitely get some of those too.
