Redlining during 1-2 shift

This has gotten really bad today, I don't even have to be WOT, just pretty heavy on the throttle and when it shifts into second the RPMs will jump to about 6000 during the shift. Bad things happen if it shifts at WOT. Transmission trouble? It doesn't have that many miles on it since the rebuild...
 
Sounds like trouble, mine did that right after a rebuild at a local shop. Than I called Bruce Toelle and Lonnie Diers
 
I stopped flooring it today after it shifted and either predetonated badly or backfired after revving up waaaay too high. I'm going to call my mechanic tomorrow and see what he thinks of this.
 
I think my clutch was slipping on the shift or the gears were slipping. Anyways the fix was to get a new trans cause the local guys here in edmonton rebuilt it four times and still could not get it right. For the price you cant beat extreme automatics, I have a stage 3 with a new lock up converter and now the car shifts fast and hard right on time. Could not be happier.

I also have a "street/strip" trans with all hard parts from Xtreme Automatics with a new converter but have not run that in my car. It is just sitting in my house so I cant comment on its performance. My cousin has a PTS trans and he loves it, it is in a 10sec GN though.

I would go with Lonnie, he is faster, better priced and sometimes has free shipping and I have had a great experience with his trans.

Sounds like the rebuild didn't take. They often don't. I'd take that puppy out and send it off for a total bullet proof upgrade.
 
I called the guy, he thinks the 2nd gear band needs to be adjusted. Or replaced if I burnt it up. I'm gonna let him try to fix it before doing anything drastic.
 
My bad, 1-2 seems fine. 2-3 is messed up. Interesting thing, if I turn the boost down to 12lbs it only jumps about 100rpm. Turn it back to 20 and it's really bad.
