removal of t/c......not bad

Ok way behind schedule but removed my t/c and was suprised to see the cam gear in such good shape. Glad I did as she was starting to let go. Only 1 chip. Replaced with a stock steel replacement and tensioner from TA. Good people to deal with IMO.
 
How many miles were on that? That is something I need to do on mine, should have done a few years back when I had the darn oil pan off :(
 
My car has 60k. From what I've read it's a combination of miles and age. Overtime even with low milage they will start to breakdown. I was very pleased how clean the inside of my engine is. Changing the timing chain and gears, intake gasket, rear main, and oil pan gasket. I don't like leaky motors.
 
I only found one distributor for a stock nylon coated gear set but was unable to speak with someone to find out where it's made..(shocker no customer service only on line ordering, no thanks)..figured China so decided to go thru TA performance
 
What is that tag that say rebuilt for General Motors? Was your engine replaced at some point?
 
No tag.....not sure what you are talking about. My motor is stock. Are you referring to a tag on your motor??
 
8289....ahhhh my screen shots on bottom....glad I didnt have an nude shots of me waxing the tta.:chat: Anyways that was a photo of a recenty purchased used turbo. It was tagged as beinging rebuilt by General Motors.
