repairs almost complete - need help with emblems

getting to final stretch of repairing the tta...

my stock front nose emblem has a rock chip.... since the front bumper is getting repaired i'm debating using this time to replace the emblem with a clean one. i know the repro ones are available (car motor sports) but they have black lettering not he stock gold lettering.

if i remember correctly - these were the only stock colored repros - 1989 Turbo Trans Am, PW Distribution but they are no longer available.
so is there a way to tell if a front nose emblem is NOS or repro assuming it has gold lettering? are there any curved ones available. did the stockers have the stud on the back (if i get a repro should i get stud or no stud)?

You need NOS, repo's don't have a curve but are flat.

The PWD Dist. nose emblem has a curve to it with gold writing instead of black. But it looks like they are sold out
The stock nose emblem has a stud on the back with a speed nut on it.

The NOS ones come up for sale on e-bay from time to time.

I would email Dave @ PWD Dist. (or PM on here Ozpont) ... he might have some front nose emblems for you Or even a complete kit if you are lucky.

dave @ pwd is the guy that got the gm authorization a few years back to reproduce these right? his are the ones that are correct color and shape to match the front bumper?

you could try Classic Industries they have the gold lettering,i don't know if it has the curb on the front emblem

I just got a NOS on ebay but paid 120$ bout 2 weeks ago. I was going to use a repo but like all have said they r flat. What I was playing with was taking the 3m tape off the repo then getting thicker 3m tape and running a slim piece on the outer edge, that takes the tape off the middle to adjust for the flat/nose contact area. If you cant find a NOS try that it looks decent. whatever you do dont try and bend a repo one like one of the distributors told me to do. It dosent matter if you heat it up it will crack FYI.
