I was asking him about his TTA on the phone today, when I was checking on my car.

It is his wifes car. Seems like they have had it for about 7 yrs or so.
The car is in South Georgia near Valdosta.

I asked what car # it was today and he said #78. I have been to their shop a few times, but I have not saw their TTA, they keep it somewhere else.

Should be talking to them soon and I can find out if it is the car from Oklahoma.

I do know it is t-top and has leather. I believe it has low miles may in the 20k range.

Also, I saw a picture of this car along with all their turbobuick cars, the TTA had one of those black nose protectors on it.
GNX 26 was also in the picture.

I wonder if they know this is one of John Lingenfelters old cars, if the vin matches.
Lingenfelter must have had more than one these cars, he maybe had one with cloth seats also.

Come to think about it. My cars heads are stock and TTA 78 has champion aluminum heads on it. I don't think I could really compare to this cars performance.:eam:

They tell me next week sometime. It has been a long wait. But it should be well worth it in the long run.

After reading some of the problems others were having, I had the transmission serviced and examined. It is in good shape.

I am having the rearend work done now. Having new oil put in it as well as new gasket.
My tech said he was doing something else to it, I forgot what, he said all GTAs need this done to the rearend.

Engine is back in the car and running. He said it is running a little rich, my fuel pressure is a little high. I am sure that will be corrected.

I will take some pictures when I get it back.:cool1:

Jan, He didn't even know that this was John Lingenfelter's old car. He is going to double check the vin# to see if it matches for sure. He is almost sure the vin is the same.

It is TTA 78.

Cool I'm sure the vin do match however let me know either or.
 
Yep, It is completed. Picking up monday.

2 days ago it was ready and they took it for a test run, and barely made it back to the shop. Alternator had gone out, ordered another one , it fixed the problem.

This has been a long drawn out process with the engine out of the car, pretty much tryed to replace what was worn and needed replacing. Such as new head gaskets with the heads reworked and all seals and gaskets such as rear main seal, motor mounts, fuel pump with hotwire kit, front and rear seats recovered, all belts and hoses, 60lb injectors with a new matching alky chip. Alky control from Julio. I think the intercooler has a new modified dutt neck on it. Other things were done also, just can't think of them now.

It has pretty much everything I wanted except I will put a 3" downpipe on it later.

And I forgot I put a bigger turbo on it!!!!

Yes, Wanted to bring it to the reunion, just did not work out, I had a great time in Ohio.

Everyone I met were real nice, even the local people in Ohio. :yes:

By the way Robert, How was your trip going back the other way? I suppose the roads were better than going thru Cincy.:cool1:
 
You want to see some corn? Try driving thru Indiana! Or Illinois outside of Chicago. Or Iowa. I've driven thru them all, TONS of corn! Ohio is small potatoes (pun intended) in comparison. :WOOT:
 
Thankfully I brought back a lot less. Basically went from 3 bins down to 1. Still have a lot of magazines to get rid of. When I get some time I'll post some more stuff for sale.

By the way Ron, I really liked reading all the magazine artlcles from the various magazines I got from you in Ohio. I am sure it helped lightned your load on the way back.:cheers:

Glad I could help out...and that you could help me out. The load was definitely lighter on the way back but I still have lots of magazines. I was surprised how many copies of the GNX vs. TTA article I had and not many people were buying them.

Yes, I got it. Everything is fine, except I have a driver side manifold leak. I will worry about this later and call the shop.

Had the Headgaskets installed and the heads reworked, also used arp headbolts.

Everything was installed really good. Front and back seats look really good.
Alky looks like a real professional install, with the lights and gain control panel installed on the lower dash.

I am in the process of cleaning the car now, It has been in the shop for almost 4 months without a good cleaning.

Several other things were installed, such as a new coil pack and crankshaft position sensor, new injectors with the alky chip seem to work fine, had rear main seal put in with new motor mounts, just to name a few things.:beach:

Ok, Here is a few: 1: Engine after Alky Install
2: New Front and Rear seatcovers from Hawks. Need
seatbelt recievers badly.
3: Alky Control Panel from lower dash, as well as the
lights on the right side, one comes on when the
Alky is spraying.
 
looks good mike, the alky nozzle should be higher than the tank, hopefully it wont be a issue, i might be able to help with the seatbelt retractor, have you toasted the tires yet? :burnrubber:
