Rim question

I just picked up a second set of rims for my car. I know the front and rears have different lips on them. My question is why? And since I have
a second set now, can I put all four with the larger lip on the car. Thanks, just dont know much about the rims on this car.

If you have the narrow lip on the front, they will rub. How do I know? I had new tires put on the car and they put the small lip on the front and they did rub, so I changed it around myself.

Big lip on the front and small lip on the back or you will have a problem.

As far as running large lip on the back, well when they were on the back they did not rub.

The rims have different offset so rears and fronts have been calculated for the correct weight distribution and load points hence they had to be different.

A number of people like the looks of the wider lip front and rear and run them that way (hence the problem to find front rims many times and rears being easier to get hold of) .... however there's a reason why they did not come that way from the factory and it's due to the width of the rear setup otherwise it would have been cheaper to have the same rims front and rear.
