RPS sensor reading

I just got a tps sensor tester from Mid America. According to the instructions and to tech. advice from this forum I should get a reading of .44 to .46 on my volt meter with the key on and the motor not running. I get 4.47 volts. does this mean that the sensor is bad or the ECM is sending too much voltage.

Do you have it installed upside down?

.38-.44 is the "at rest" voltage,key on. 4.5 -5.0 is the WOT voltage.

The ECM supplies a 4.9V bias voltage to the TPS and the TPS is nothing more than a rheostat ,as it sweeps it changes that bias voltage from 0.0-4.9(5.0) which the ECM looks at it and decideds how far the gas pedal is being pushed down,if at all.

The tester is connected to read the top two leads. I thought that this was correct.

Followed the instruction and was able to set the tps correctly.
