Sad day for Corvette lovers. :o(

Saw this earlier today. It must be a huge sinkhole, because the cars almost look like toys down in there. Very sad.
 
Holy cow that's some hole,what a shame you right the hole is so big that these cars look like toy's.At least the ZR1 landed flat.
 
Unbelievable, been there several times, lived in Bowling Green for about 6 years.
Just glad it was during closing times and no person was hurt

The only real sad loss IMO looks to be a 62 vette, the others were more modern vettes.

The actual assembly plant is only a few miles away, I hope it doesn't have any similar issues.

This sink hole shit is crazy, maybe I should get sink hole insurance.:read:
 
GM has already stepped up to say they will help fix the cars once they get them out and stabilize the area. The Blue Devil seemed as if it just dropped into the bottom and wants to drive out. :) Some of the other cars are pretty buried in the dirt and will need some serious repairs.
 
I remember seeing news reports back when the 1 millionth vette rolled off the line, then have seen it at the museum a couple of times we have been there...it's the only one I specifically remember seeing there given it's history. How amazing is it that a sink hole formed exactly under the center of the dome?? Pretty weird how things happen.

Could have been worse. you can still find the #989,767th 4th or 5th gen vette at your local car show, however, you can't get back the Zora Arkus-Duntov Manta Ray prototypes, the first 53 or any 53, any of the early race car protos, or race cars. A new-ish ZR1?..., psssttt, rip out the drivetrain and put it on ebay. Doesn't appear that any of the Zora's, Callaway's or early prototypes bit it.
I say that was a win considering some of the aforementioned vehicles did used to occupy that very space.

i helped my wifes family raise money to build the museum. we trailered the 999,999th corvette all over gods creation selling raffle tickets. now seeing this after being there is just saddening
