I'm working on getting #749 back up to where it should be after a several year hiatus. Thanks to Robert for all his work on the mechanical. Now it's time to work on the interior. I've been looking around for replacement seat covers (front and rear) and was wondering some thoughts. I know people have mentioned Hawks (and other places that have the Katzkin leather) and Jax (which I've heard has a better fit. Has anyone had experience with the seller rubik818 on eBay? Looks like the link is http://www.ebay.com/itm/261559567531?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT. I looked around a bit and seems that seller had some good input on some of the GTA/F-body sites. Someone also mentioned the cover girl? Not sure who she is, but seems like she has some experience with the 87-92 F-body lumbar seats. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
 
Hey Mike, sorry i was half asleep the other night when you called, WS6 has a hook-up with a co. called Lethal interiors in Fla., maybe he will chime in with some info. Btw glad the car is running good...
 
Cover girl is the lady who runs lethal interiors, she has a website up with some lumbar seats. Very good quality work.
 
I have ordered from rubik818. Workmanship was excellent. The beechwood color was supposed to be dead on it. It was three shades off, kinda looked like a grey tan, just didn't suit. This was the leather kit I ordered. His Hampton vinyl might be closer. He understood I was not happy and refunded my money . I went with Hawks. The leather kit looks good, fits good, not exact but I was well pleased. Bruce
 
I have had the Hawks Katskin leather seat covers for 4 years now. These are not perfect color or fit but good for the money, got them when they had the group purchase. But if I had to do it again I would probably spend the extra cash and go with the Jax covers. Or even go with the ones that WS6 used. I would never go with the Hampton Vinyl, these cars came with leather and not vinyl seats! The main thing with leather products, you have to take care of them and keep them cleaned and conditioned, I just did mine today.
 
I thank all for you replies and advice. I didn't know the cover girl was Lethal Interiors. I looked around online and they have some really positive reviews. I may PM WS6 and see what info I can get. Thanks again!!
 
PM'd you... and for reference for others, yes I used Lethal Interiors. I don't know her as "cover girl" but as Princess Dion and by far the best I've ever used. I think I have pictures in my LS conversion thread here. If not I can post pictures.
 
I've gotta add something to the discussion. One of the primary challenges to recovering seats in older cars is trying to match color to the surrounding interior. In particular, our seat plastics. They fade, oxidize and generally don't probably look like the same shade of beechwood that they did back 1989.

To me , it really bugs me if the they don't match very closely, so I approach it from trying to get a color leather/fabric that is close to the current plastic color. Or....what I do mostly is to spray or dye the plastics in a color that can be matched to current leather/ fabric choices and solve it that way. It's allot of work pulling the plastic panels out of the car, setting up, prepping and re-spraying everything, but the results are worth it. The interior will look like it was brand new and nothing is mis matched.

So, I'll pick my plastic color, spray a small test piece and order material samples and go from there.
 
Not sure where you are getting your plastic dye but this one from the Fiero Store is a spot on match.
It looks dark in the pic, but trust me, it is the best match out there.

I use SEM 15173 camel color coat, it's what I used on the LS car with the Cognac material and what I used to match the Katzkin beech wood covers on the TTA. Both were damn near exact to the Camel color.
