Some info about PHS

I sent in my $ and request last week for info packet and repro window sticker to PHS. Lo and behold get a call today from Mr. Jim Mattison and he was sorry to inform me they couldnt process my request. He asked what I was wanting it for-like car production number or whatever. I told him I knew my car #, but wanted the window sticker so I could have it for car shows. Anyway, to make a long story short-he said because of GM bankruptcy stuff, PHS can no longer directly provide records for anything beyond 1987.

But there is a round about way to still get info. I have to contact Allied Vaughn out of Detroit and request a copy of the dealer invoice. Jim said dont get upset because it will show the car has a 305 V-8, but a credit option. Then I can forward a copy of this dealer invoice to PHS and request a repro window sticker and something he called a "mini packet."
So to save any future TTA owners HA's, i thought I would pass this on. Maybe some of you already know this, but I did not.

I also took the opportunity to tell him about the reunion. He was well aware of it and told me he had been invited. I encouraged him to attend, I told him this was one of the reasons I wanted the window sticker for. He said he gets invited to many things, and because of time constraints cant attend everything. Guys, I did my best and put in a good word for the reunion-lets hope he can make it!!:)

Had to do the same thing and went thru Allied Vaughn for window stickers, Instead of mailing the info I had them to e-mail it to me in pdf form and it worked great, and then contacted Jim at phs with info and he had me 2 reproduction window stickers printed up one laminated and the other one not.

They still do the info packet - I got one in August . Its just a letter with the car number from Jim and some literature. But it is good to document the car. A previous owner got the window sticker and I got it when I bought the car.

Thats a good idea about the pdf. I was just going by the info on the web site. I had gotten the packet for my base 82 last year and everything looked the same. As long as the end result is the same, I guess thats ok-I just wanted a window sticker.

What do the window stickers look like? Do they look original? What did he charge for this service?

I believe it is $32 for the first and $10 for the second window sticker and $3 if you want one laminated.

Yes, thats what Jim quoted me today, also another $35 for the "mini packet". He said Allied Vaughn's charge was $50. I didnt get any documents with my TTA other than the owners kit. There was a member on here-tta1515, also listed on the registry, I contacted thru email, asking what dealership etc the car originated from, but he never responded. I think I am the 3rd owner. Does anyone know of member tta1515?

FINALLY got my repro window sticker and mini packet. Had a little issue with Allied Vaughn. Got charged over $600 for the dealer invoice! They must have charged my account with the next order they processed. Anyway, got it all straightened out. Got the proper credit, etc. Soooooo, my TTA was sold new from John Wiesner, Inc out of Conroe, Texas, which is north of Houston. Seems like everything I was told about it so far is pretty accurate. That's good to know.
