spark plugs

Anybody ever heard of a TTA that would accept Champion 2401 plugs but not ACDelco r42ts ? in other words the AC's will not thread in but the champion's will, WTF?

That's a new one to me??

Is this for the TTA you're going to race? if so, don't run an extended insulator plug like the R42's.

I can't tell ya' what NGK I run because I forgot, but Jason turned me onto them and the car performs better at the track. they're colder heat range and a flush insulator.

I run the trx7 plug if I remember correct. It's a very cold plug. I'll double check in the plug number for you later. Works great for me!

No this is not my car, it's a 39k TTA i've been working on but AC's will not thread into the hole but Champion will, damnest thing i ever seen... it did have alot of old ATR stuff on it i removed, PAC programmer, a/f control ect.. BTW if the head's have ever been off they did a good job of hiding it or it was done a long long time ago. on another note the r42ts look's pretty flush to me but then again i may need glass's, i have to pull them on #818 to close the gap as the boost is going up to 26psi anyhow...

I tried the NGK 3346 (br7ef) and the car don't seem to like them, any other non-projected tip plug out there that's not as cold ?

That is what I run. If you drive the car and get into it, they are an awesome plug. If you idle a lot, the tune is rich, or if you never get the car warmed up, they are not for you.

The BR6EF or NGK-3177 is one step warmer than the BR7EF. I don't think you will see a difference though.

First link that popped up:

NGK (3177) BR6EF Traditional Spark Plug, Pack of 1 : Amazon.com : Automotive

No problem with ldle and always let it warm up, the big difference i see is spool-up and the WB A/F went from 10.8 to 10.

Unless you're spraying nitrous, I'd bet a beer the two are completely unrelated.

I suppose anything is possible but i didn't change a thing but the plugs, even the same gas, car still runs strong only slower spool and WB af dropped at WOT.
I guess the only way to know is put AC plugs back in, though i would like to make these plugs work... i wonder if i'm spraying too much Alky for these plugs?

Now that i think about it i will log another run and compare NB@WB#'s then maybe pull some WOT fuel but i think BLM's was close to 128 at wot...
