Spoiler install

I wasn't planning on putting anything under the whole spoiler like weatherstripping because I'm afraid it will hold it up off the deck. I was thinking of just putting some of the butyl around the deck holes on top and then coating the washers too before installing the bolts. The only water the cat sees is from washing it anyway. There didn't even seem to be any seal between the bottom of the 3rd brake light and the deck lid except the plastic piece that I actually bought a new GM one for even though my stock was in perfect shape.

Also has anyone changed the lift supports because the new spoiler weighs so much less. I bought a set of AC Delco ones off Rockauto for a car with no spoiler or wiper but they seem like they have more pressure to close the hatch without any spoiler than the ones I had on with the spoiler.

Good question Mark. I don't know the answer, but will be seeing what folks have to say. That's part of the reason why I haven't changed mine. I'm hoping they'll be just right after the spoiler change. You know, the three bears?
