Don't know if you guys have been watching the show "Supercars Exposed" on Speed but I caught a quick glimpse of a TTA on Monday night's show. It was so quick I had to back it up twice to verify it. They were at a location in TX where they run a standing mile flat out run. The TTA was lined up with some other cars. The host ran a Porsche to around 185 and a modified Ford GT up to 204. Just thought I'd mention it.
 
When you try high speeds like that you can really appreciate aerodynamics of the supercars. I had a 99 SS camaro for a while and a 99 Corvette before that. They both felt very equal for driving LS1's but I at separate times brought both cars up to 140 on the same safe strech of road. Wow what a difference between the two cars! The corvette was just cruisin in 6th gear. The camaro wasn't getting there, I had to downshift to 5th and really lay into it getting the car up there.

The fastest I've had the TTA was around 135 but when you are going that fast a few mph seems to make a huge difference. I don't think I'd want to be behind the wheel of the TTA doing 160 mph as they've claimed the top speed to be new. Just to much resistance from that darn wind, the undersides of our cars just aren't built for it.

My $.02. Anyone else try topping one of these out?
 
I just found that, lol! I wrote that post then went over to look at turbobuick.com stuff! Some of his responses were pretty rude. I though it was a cool video. I bet it would take a lot of hp to get a brick shaped GN to cut the air that fast!
 
Was a cool video, the TTA was still pulling too!! If he had more road , who knows what the top speed would have been.

I pegged the speedo a few times when I was a youngster. The speedo stopped registering but the car kept pulling to what speed I don't know ???. Need a speedometer that goes higher. Maybe was 155 mph to 160 mph. Did top end run with the tops out to about 130 mph, now that was fun.
Note: to you old farts, hold on to your toupe or it will get sucked out. haha!
